Documenting Your Wedding: The Philosophy of Recess Photography
How I document your wedding I photograph weddings in a dignified, elegant, and journalistic manner. I have been a photographer for over 25 years and my extensive background in photojournalism allows me to capture moments that many traditional photographers miss. It is these moments that “tell the story” of your wedding day. Couples want an observer, they want real moments, not re-created altar poses. When you receive your proofs, you will see the events, personalities and emotions that encompassed the entire experience. I like to meet with couples before their wedding day and discuss how they “picture” their wedding day. What are the stories behind certain people attending your wedding, the location, the dress, and so on. From this first meeting, I can get a sense of what is important to couples and what they would want to see when they sit down with their proof book for the first time.
Editing for Best Selection I photograph weddings using digital technology, taking anywhere between 500 and 1500 photos depending on the size and length of the wedding. Photo editing is a critical part of photography and something that I take great pride in when I sit down and review your prints for presentation. I select the best possible moments in terms of content and quality for you to then make your selection. I assure you that you will have a wide range of prints to choose from that span the entire wedding, from beginning to end.
The Selection Process The proofs of your wedding will be presented either in CD or bound leather format depending upon package selection. I present proofs in black and white. There is a timeless quality about black and white photographs that I love; however, any photo can be viewed and ordered in color if specified. Wedding photo packages are available to make ordering prints as easy as possible. When couples are considering larger prints, I meet with clients after they have had an opportunity to review their proofs to ensure that the best possible choices are considered. During this consultation, I can recommend local framers that will help you find a way to frame your prints in a style that is becoming to your selections and lifestyle.
Pricing Each wedding is unique and my rates fluctuate to accommodate each of those unique moments. Coverage ranges from $2000 to $5000 depending on your photographic needs. Prints are priced a la carte and I offer two types of wedding books to tell your story.
